GOOD MARKS AT USATF-NE INDOOR TRACK & FIELD MEET

The open track and field season came to a peak at the USATF New England Indoor Track & Field Championship held at Harvard University's Gordon Track on Sunday. A mix of open, collegiate, scholastic, and masters competitors enjoyed one of the country's top facilities and spirited competition.

The top ranked performance was likely the 4:00.52 winning mile by Steve Mangan of Dartmouth College. In the 3000 meter race walk, Maryanne Daniel (Connecticut Race Walkers) set a pending USA W55-59 record of 16:02.41. Ellsworth ME HS runner Dan Curts clocked an all New England HS best 8:23.85 for 3000 meters at 8: finishing second overall, and a Vermont state scholastic best was set In the Scholastic Development Weight throw when Mustapha Kay of St.Johnsbury VT spun the ball 59'1.5".
